Dear Mom:

I'm a new mom too. I'm quite the shopper, but often couldn't find what I was looking for, or if I found it, it wasn't 'just right', so I started making a few cute and practical things on my own.

Everywhere I went, Moms and Grandmoms would ask me where I got my stuff-- to which I proudly replied,

"I made it!"

Friends would ask me to make them things, who then had friends who wanted them and Hiccup was born.

My main product is the nursing cover. A stiffening material at the top edge creates a gently bowed collar that holds the fabric off of your body so that you can see what you and your baby are doing. It is lightweight and stays put, unlike a blanket that can get hot and that can also leave you exposed. It's so easy-- you just put the strap around your neck and start feeding.
