Shortly after the birth of my daughter, my parents came to visit and it was awkward to have my Dad there while I was trying to learn to breastfeed. The bowed collar makes a perfect tent over my baby's head. It prevents him from getting sunburned in our hot climate by providing shade, while still providing ventilation.
